# Create leads by scanning business cards

Scan business cards with the mobile app or send them by email to create new leads in noCRM.

You collected business cards at a trade show or an event and want to contact these people? Creating leads is as easy as scanning them.

noCRM recognizes the content of the card, enters it in a new lead and makes it available directly in your sales pipeline. There are two ways to do it: with the [mobile app](https://help.nocrm.io/en/articles/38-mobile-app.md), which is the simplest, or by email.

## How do you scan a business card with the mobile app?

Follow these steps:

1.  Open the noCRM mobile app.
    
2.  Tap the **+** button at the bottom of the screen.
    
3.  Choose **From a business card**.
    
4.  Take a picture of the business card, or select it in your phone's gallery, and upload it.
    

> **Info:** **Note**: The scan always creates a lead in your pipeline: it isn't possible to create a prospect in a prospecting list from a business card. If the option isn't available, check that **Activate the business cards scan feature** is selected in **Admin panel** > **Account management** > **Preferences** > **Mobile app**.

## How do you create a lead by sending a business card by email?

Follow these steps:

1.  Click your avatar at the top right.
    
2.  Open your profile.
    
3.  Go to **Tools** > **Business cards** to find the scan email address of your account, for example [nameofyouraccount@scan.nocrm.io](mailto:nameofyouraccount@scan.nocrm.io).
    
4.  Send the picture of the business card to this address.
    

## How do you get the best results?

> **Success:** **Best practice**: Take a good picture of the card against a white background. The picture must be of good quality, but it doesn't need to be large: around 500 KB is perfect to get good results without waiting too long.

## How many business cards can you scan?

Business card scans are limited to:

-   5 per user during the free trial.
    
-   150 per user and per month once you switch to a paid plan.
    

During your free trial, to check how many business card scans you have left, open the noCRM mobile app, tap the **+** button, then **From a business card**.

## How do you get more business card scans?

If you need more business card scans, you can:

-   Switch to a paid plan immediately, without waiting for the end of your free trial, in the billing section of your noCRM account.
    
-   Switch to an annual plan to get the scans of all 12 months immediately. You can do this in the billing section as well, by clicking the **Save €XXX per year** link. Find more information about [plans and payment methods](https://help.nocrm.io/en/articles/85-editions-payment-methods.md).
    
-   Ask other users to scan business cards for you if they still have scans left.
