# Create leads from your prospecting lists

Turn qualified prospects from your prospecting lists into leads in a single click and feed your pipeline.

Prospecting lists are used for **cold prospecting or to import contacts**. Each row is a prospect that hasn't been qualified yet. You can create and edit a prospecting list directly in your noCRM account, in the **Cold prospects** section, to handle the first phase of your sales process.

Once a prospect becomes a real opportunity, turn it into a lead to move it through the steps of your [sales process](https://www.nocrm.io/academy/how-to-set-up-a-consistent-sales-process).

## How do you turn a prospect into a lead?

Follow these steps:

1. Open your prospecting list in the **Cold prospects** section.

2. Click the **+** button at the beginning of the prospect's row.

![In the noCRM Cold prospects table named “test,” a red arrow and outline highlight a row’s plus button, with the tooltip “Create a lead with this row.”. Visible: Cold prospects, Leads, Clients, test, Search in table, Show all rows.](https://staticfiles.gleap.io/ghelparticle/pxMD0FffUUQJUiiK3LDwHPY8x9b9gIuDYDzCg45fMkJaEDtb7m8KX1gDFmqcysKa1Sj57dFhKdv.png)

The new lead is created in your pipeline. The row of the prospecting list is then frozen: only the lead can be edited, and its changes aren't copied to the row. To get an up-to-date database, export your leads.

> **Warning:** **Important**: Turning a prospect into a lead is a one-way process: cold prospects, then leads, then clients. You can't move an existing lead back to a prospecting list, and it isn't possible to automate the creation of leads from prospecting lists.

When a lead is won, it moves to the **Clients** tab and no longer appears in the pipeline or in the list of leads.

## How do you reactivate a prospect turned into a lead by mistake?

If you create a lead by mistake and want to reactivate the prospect, simply **delete the lead**: the row becomes active again in your prospecting list.

> **Info:** **Note**: Deleted items can always be [restored from the recycle bin](https://help.nocrm.io/en/articles/116-restore-data.md).

## How do you import a prospecting list?

A configuration wizard helps you import your spreadsheet properly. Watch the tutorial (from 2:27):
